Hannah only has a few more days left before she has preschool graduation. She has loved going to the Wee Wildcats preschool program three mornings a week, that is put on by high school students in the family and consumer sciences program. She adores the FCS teacher Ms. Hale and has had so much fun there. Hannah will be attending the Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in the fall, since she misses the cutoff for kindergarten. We have been incredibly blessed for her to have received a scholarship for a full year of tuition here. We are so excited for her. She is so bright and inquisitive, so I know she will thrive there.
Isaac has been doing track and field on his middle school team. He has done the long jump, the 100 and some relays. A track meet is a different kind of experience than a basketball game but I am starting to get the hang of it. He qualified for conference finals in the 4 by 100 meter relay. We are so proud of him. He is growing like crazy. It seems like every day he is coming to me to tell me “My soccer cleats are too small” or “I’ve outgrown my church shirt.”
Tyler had his second birthday with little fanfare. We weren’t able to have a full family party. Ryan’s sister Katherine was visiting though and we did have cupcakes together. Tyler is the light of our lives. He is such an easy going guy with a funny personality. He adores Hannah and Isaac. He wants to be independent. Everything is “Me dude it!” He is obsessed with babies. He always wants to see pictures and videos of his cousins Ransom and Zachary. He loves trucks, Sesame Street, using the broom, and pretending to drive my car.
We are so close to summer break I can taste it. Only a few more weeks! This school year started out crazy but ended on a better note. I lost a few kids off my caseload who moved and that helped my work load quite a bit. I also had a very competent and capable student teacher which was a nice experience.
We have some fun things planned, the biggest is a big trip out west. We are doing Disneyland and then my parents and my sister’s family are joining us in San Diego. Then we are all road tripping it to southern Utah for the Stephenson family reunion. It should be pretty epic. We are also planning some other activities including a beach day, and getting a lot of use out of our Sesame Place, Please Touch Museum and Philadelphia Zoo season passes.
